Assault Police
Belleville – On March 4 at 2:20 p.m., police received a call with regards to a disturbance in the city’s west end where a 17-year-old female had damaged two doors and was then causing a disturbance on the street. While attempting to arrest the female she resisted and assaulted one of the officers. She was eventually subdued and taken into custody. The Belleville resident who cannot be named due to stipulations under the Youth Criminal Justice Act was later released to her guardians on a promise to appear. She was given a court date later this month to face charges of mischief, resisting arrest and assaulting a peace officer. No injuries were sustained during the incident.
Breach of the Peace
Belleville – On March 4, shortly after 1:00 p.m., police arrested a 54-year-old female for breach of the peace at an east end apartment building after attending for numerous disturbance calls. The female was also found to be intoxicated. She was held at The Belleville Police Service until sober and calm before being released unconditionally.
Belleville – On March 4 at 9:30 p.m., police were called to a downtown bar with regards to an unwanted female who was causing a disturbance. Shortly after arriving on scene they arrested the 29-year-old for public intoxication. She was taken to The Belleville Police Service where she was lodged in cells. She was held til morning when she was released on a provincial offence notice for public intoxication.
Motor Vehicle Collisions
Belleville – Police report responding to 5 motor vehicle collisions during the past 24 hours. Four accidents resulted in property damage only, however one involving a pedestrian resulted in a 27-year-old Belleville male being taken to Quinte Health Care by paramedics for minor injuries. The accident occurred in the city’s industrial park area as the male was walking along Jamieson Bone Rd. The accident is still under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
