By the end of the day Saturday, Northumberland Peterborough South will have a Conservative candidate for the upcoming federal election.
At St. Mary Catholic School in Cobourg, the nomination meeting is taking place, which pits five candidates against one another.
They are former Brighton Mayor Mark Walas, lawyer Phil Lawrence from Orono, Grant Dingwall (who has worked in Rona Ambrose’s office and for former MPP Rob Milligan), Sarah Honey (who worked for former MP Rick Norlock and with the National Conservative Caucus Chair) and finally businessman John Sorrell.
Doors open at 11 a.m., with speeches to follow and voting from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Quinte News will have coverage of the nomination vote.
