Quinte West’s Economic Development and Tourism Committee is recommending council provide financial support again to three cultural/entertainment/sporting events again this year.
Earlier this week, the committee recommended a grant of $20,000 to the Canadian Sports Fishing League to help sponsor a professional bass fishing qualifier tournament in Quinte West on August 15-17.
The Canadian Sports Fishing League hosted a very successful tournament in the city last year.
Also, it’s being recommended council approve $15,000 for the Quinte Canadian FilmFest which will run in late October.
And, $15,000 cash along with $5,000 in-kind support was recommended for the longstanding Trenton Scottish Irish Festival, which occurs in September.
