The Belleville Police responded to 55 calls for service from February 22, 2019 at 5 a.m. and February 23, 2019 at 5 a.m.
Man arrested on warrants
On February 22, 2019 at 10:10 a.m., Belleville Police observed a male known to be wanted, on Sidney Street. Police stopped the male, and he was arrested for his warrant for failing to appear for finger prints from a prior charge. Thirty-seven-year-old Chris Thirlwall of Belleville will appear in court in March.
Refusing roadside sobriety test leads to charges
On February 23, 2019 at 2:50 a.m., police observed a vehicle stopped in the roadway on Cannifton Road. Police approached the driver and made the determination that the driver had been drinking. Police attempted to do a standard field sobriety test on the driver to determine his level of impairment; however, he refused. A 41-year-old male from Havelock was arrested and charged with failing to comply with a demand. He will appear in court in March.
