Loyalist Township and the Township of Carlow/Mayo are on the receiving end of some federal funding thanks to a new initiative.
Lennox and Addington MP Mike Bossio announced today Loyalist Township will receive just over $101,000 and Carlow/Mayo will see almost $36,000 through the Federation of Canadian Municipalities Green Municipal Fund and the Municipal Asset Management Program.
The funds in Loyalist Township will go towards a sustainable community hub, while in Carlow/Mayo the money will be for municipal asset management planning.
Bossio said he’s very pleased to see the government put forward $50 million through the FCM for asset management plans, and that communities in his riding are seeing the benefit to help them complete their asset management plans.
The Municipal Asset Management Program (MAMP) is helping Canadian municipalities make informed decisions on infrastructure investment based on sound asset management practices.
The Green Municipal Fund (GMF) supports initiatives that advance innovative solutions to environmental challenges. These projects improve air, water and land quality, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and generate economic and social benefits to local communities
