Staff and board members of the Canadian Mental Health Association are in shock, following the death of a man at a transition home they operate.
Belleville City Councillor Chris Malette is a Board Member with the Hastings Prince Edward chapter of CMHA, and says this is the first time a serious incident like this has taken place.
An altercation earlier this week happened at “Our House”, a Men’s Residential Facility in Belleville.
A 23 year old London Ontario man, Nicolas Wilson died, following an interaction with another men.
Malette says the short term housing facility has ten beds for those in a housing crisis.
He says this is not typical and it is tragic.
The other residents have been moved from Our House to alternate accommodations.
