A young Cobourg man doesn’t want any part of the prison system.
On Sunday, two Northumberland OPP Special Constables were assaulted while removing a man from OPP jail cells in Cobourg.
Jordan Reid, 26, was charged with trafficking in opioids and heroin along with assault with intent to resist arrest.
Then, today (Monday), while Reid was being removed from OPP cells he again assaulted two Special Constables.
He took off on foot and tried to steal two vehicles at a nearby gas station.
OPP and Cobourg municipal police officers arrested him and charged him with escaping custody, assaulting a peace officer and robbery with intent.
The Special Constables suffered minor injuries.
