Bay of Quinte and Hastings Lennox and Addington MPs Neil Ellis and Mike Bossio are highlighting a number of federal investments that have been made in the City of Belleville.
After meeting with Mayor Mitch Panciuk this week, the two MPs say the Federal Government has invested more than $84 million in the city and that those investments are helping to protect the region’s resources and lay the foundation of support for economic opportunities and population growth.
Among the highlights are $52 million a year to residents through the Canada Child Benefit, $3.3 million for water and wastewater infrastructure, another $3 million for road and bridge work, plus a $10.8 million regional investment in high-speed internet services.
Ellis and Bossio say they stand ready to back even more local projects with federal support, as soon as the Provincial Government opens a new intake for infrastructure applications.
