Belleville’s new warming shelter opens for the first time Tuesday night, with some surprise volunteers to help.
Mayor Mitch Panciuk has announced that the shelter, in the lobby of Belleville Public Library, will open at 8 p.m. and stay open all night until 8 a.m. Wednesday.
Students from the Loyalist College social workers program will be on hand to offer assistance to the homeless using the shelter overnight.
