The process is underway to find a new Director of Education for the Hastings Prince Edward District School Board.
A special nine member committee of the board has been struck and will be chaired by Prince Edward County trustee Jennifer Cobb.
The committee has instructed staff to issue a Request for Proposals in the near future by advertising and inviting known management recruiting firms to bid on the recruiting effort.
The committee will provide recommendations to the full board throughout the selection process.
A tentative timeline suggests a new director could be selected sometime in June to replace the retiring Mandy Savery-Whiteway.
Savery-Whiteway was promoted from within the Hastings Prince Edward board’s system and an external recruiter was not used.
