A Cambridge man, who knows first hand what it is like to be homeless, is in Belleville to raise awareness to the issue.
Paul Tavares is going across Ontario, staying in 13 communities over 90 days, to raise funds and awareness for homelessness.
It is called 90 Days and Nights in the Cold.
Tavares says he was homeless for more that two years.
He will be staying in Belleville until Saturday night in a tent, at Great St. James and Church Streets, by the Grace Inn Shelter.
All funds and clothing donations he receives will go to the Grace Inn Shelter or the Salvation Army.
His trip began January 6 and will wind up April 6 in Thunder Bay.
Tavares has a goal of $150,000.
