The penalty hearing for a Belleville family doctor, found guilty of unprofessional conduct, has been adjourned to a later date.
Doctor Mile Savic was found guilty late last year of breaching previous orders by prescribing certain narcotics to patients and according to a decision from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario showing “a lack of knowledge and skill regarding the prescribing of antibiotics”, as well as “displaying a lack of professionalism in his documentation and examinations”.
Savic has denied the College’s findings and a CPSO spokesperson tells Quinte News the hearing was adjourned at Savic’s request, but could not go into detail as to why that request was made.
A new date for the hearing has yet to be set.
