Corrections Officers made a significant seizure of unauthorized items at Collins Bay Institution this week.
Heather Hyndman, Acting Assistant Warden of the medium security unit, said there were cellphones, SIM cards, charges and 2,145.9 grams of tobacco seized on Tuesday afternoon.
The estimated institutional value is $49,000.
Police have been notified and the institution is investigating.
Correctional Service Canada introduced a complete smoking ban in federal correctional facilities in 2008.
