The Belleville Police Service responded to 61 calls for service between February 4, 2019 at 5 a.m. and February 5, 2019 at 5 a.m.
Motor vehicle collisions
On February 4, 2019, at 2:32 p.m. police attended at the intersection of College Street East and Cannifton Road regarding a two-car collision. One motorist was charged with “fail to yield to traffic on a through highway”. There were no injuries.
On February 4, 2019, at 3:12 p.m. a pedestrian was struck by a car on Bridge Street West at Sidney Street. The pedestrian was taken by EMS to BGH for treatment of minor injuries. The investigation is continuing.
Traffic charges
On February 4, 2019, at 1:04 p.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop on Bay Bridge Road. The 35-year-old woman was charged with driving while under suspension and improper licence plates. She will appear in Traffic Court on March 4th, 2019.
Arrest on warrants
On February 4, 2019, at 8 p.m. officers met with Durham Regional Police officers and took possession of a woman wanted by the Belleville Police Service. Thirty-six-year-old Susan Hannah, of Toronto, was held for a bail hearing in Belleville on February 5, 2019. Her charges include: Fraud – 7 counts, failing to appear in court – 3 counts, possession of stolen property – 2 counts, theft of a motor vehicle, and theft under $5000.
