On February 2, 2019, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Central Hastings OPP attended a residence in the Municipality of Tweed to check on the well-being of the residents. When police arrived they located a male visiting with the home owner, who is known to police to be currently before the court for outstanding charges and is on a recognizance of bail.
Charged is 54-year-old John Whalen of the Municipality of Marmora and Lake.
Whalen was charged with
• Fail to Comply with Recognizance, two counts
When Whalen was arrested he was found to be in possession of a drug. He was further charged with
• Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Cocaine
Whalen will appear for a scheduled bail hearing in Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville, Ontario on February 4, 2019.
