A lockdown has been ordered at Warkworth Institution following the assault of an inmate.
Assistant Warden Dave Stephens says yesterday afternoon (January 30) two inmates were found by staff to have been victims of an assault.
The inmates were transported from the medium security federal institution to a hospital to receive treatment.
The OPP are investigating the incident.
A search of the institution is also ongoing.
