Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison met one-on-one with Ontario Premier Doug Ford Monday, pitching requests for provincial help for his community.
Mayor Harrison’s meeting with Premier Ford occurred during the Rural Ontario Municipal Association conference now underway in Toronto.
He tells Quinte News he emphasized that data is available supporting the need for a dialysis unit in Quinte West.
Harrison says he will give that information to the Minister of Health.
He also told Premier Ford Quinte West could use some provincial funding for the new OPP station in his municipality.
Mayor Harrison said he emphasized how well the municipalities in the Bay of Quinte area work together on such issues as “Long Term Care, housing and homelessness.”
