The Belleville Police Service responded to 54 calls for service between January 26, 2019 at 5 a.m. and January 27, 2019 at 5 a.m.
Motor Vehicle Collisions
On January 26, 2019, at 2:50 p.m. officers attended on Moira Street West at Yeomans Street in relation to a two-car collision. One vehicle was towed from the scene. A 29-year-old male was charged with following too closely. There were no injuries.
On January 26, 2019, at 5:22 p.m. officers attended on North Front Street at College Street in relation to a two-car collision. The driver of one of the vehicles was unaccounted for. According to the passenger in one of the vehicles the female driver had fled the scene on foot. Attempts to locate the driver during the course of the evening proved to be unsuccessful. There were no reported injuries. The investigation is continuing.
Intoxicated person
On January 26, 2019, at 8:41 p.m. an officer on patrol observed a woman lying in a snowbank on Station Street. The 27-year-old woman was arrested for her own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. She was issued a provincial offence notice for being intoxicated in a public place.
Bail Violations
On January 26, 2019, at 11:52 a.m. officers attended at a residence on MacDonald Avenue in relation to a report of a domestic disturbance. The investigation revealed that the 26-year-old man had been released on bail conditions which included that he not attend at that address. Another condition specified that he was not to have any contact with an individual at the address. He was charged with breaching his undertaking and was held for a bail hearing on January 27, 2019.
