Four local communities are getting some money to help with transit improvements.
Hastings-Lennox and Addington MPP Daryl Kramp announced on Friday that Addington Highlands will receive $265,505, Bancroft $500,000, Deseronto $290,598, and Lennox and Addington $262,000, through the Community Transportation Grant Program.
Kramp says this investment will improve the quality of life for many people in our communities that are currently under served by transit.
Kramp also says, the province will provide municipalities with $30 million over five years to support local transit and inter-community bus service in areas with little to no public transit.
Funding will be provided for 45 different projects across 40 communities.
The program will make it easier for Ontarians to access essential services in their communities, connect with other transportation services, and travel between cities and towns.
