Belleville’s hockey present honours Belleville’s hockey past this weekend as the Senators pay tribute to the 1959 World Champion and Allan Cup Champion Belleville McFarlands. And for good measure, the B-Sens also host the Calder Cup Champion Toronto Marlies tonight and tomorrow.
It’s been 60 years since the Macs won the World title in the former Czechoslovakia. Members of the Macs will be on hand and the Senators will wear replica jerseys from the 59 team. As well the original World Championship and Allan Cup trophies will be on display as part of a larger history of hockey from the Hall of Fame in Toronto.
It’s a critical weekend for the B-Sens as they are 8 points behind the 4th place Marlies.
Defencemen Cody Goloubef and Justin Falk along with winger Morgan Klimchuk will make their home debut for Belleville. Defenceman Christian Wolanin and winger Rudolfs Balcers have returned from the NHL Ottawa Senators.
