An investigation is underway into an inmate at Joyceville Institution, after prison officials say, they were caught bringing contraband into the facility this week.
Assistant Warden Lorrie Oddie say around 3 p.m. on Monday, officers found the inmate trying to smuggle 12 grams of cannabis concentrate into the prison.
Oddie is crediting the combined efforts of correctional officers, security intelligence and provincial partners with the seizure, which has an estimated institutional value of $6,000.
Police have been notified about the incident and an investigation by OPP and the institution is continuing.
