On January 17, 2019, at approximately 4:12 a.m., a Central Hastings OPP officer stopped a motor vehicle on Madoc Street in the Village of Marmora for failing to stop at a stop sign.
During the investigation the female driver provided a false name and date of birth.
The officer was able to identify the driver as 29-year-old Christine Whiteman of Tweed, who has outstanding charges before the court and is on a Recognizance of Bail with a curfew condition.
Whiteman was charged with
- Fail to Comply with Recognizance, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
- Obstruct Peace Officer, contrary to Criminal Code of Canada
Whiteman will appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville, Ontario on January 18, 2019.
