A lockdown has been put in place at Collins Bay Institution.
The lockdown was implemented in the medium security unit, around 5:00 last night and then extended to the maximum security unit at 7:00 this morning.
The measure has been put in place so staff can conduct a search and ensure the safety and security of the institution, its inmates and staff.
Visits have been suspended until the search is complete.
