The Pond at Rhino Sports & Playland- Minor Atom
On Saturday January 5th, The Rhino Sports Minor Atoms were back from a short break to face off against the Peterborough Petes.
Daniel Yeo had the start in net. The Devils started things off with a short handed goal by Maclean Chisholm at the end of the first period. Nate Rashotte (assisted by Grayson Hunt and Maclean Chisholm) found the back of the net for the second goal and the devils were ahead 2-0. The third period was a rough one as the devils had lost their fire. Peterborough scored four goals in the third period to take the 4-2 win.
Quinte didn’t have to wait long for a rematch as they hosted Peterborough in Madoc on Sunday. Chase Cybulskie (from Ryan Foley and Grayson Hunt) got the scoring started at the end of the first period. Seth Scaletta, to Keegan Goulah and a beauty pass to Brayden Davidson has the devils up 2-0. The Petes answered back with one goal, but Brody Harrison stole the puck for the third goal of the game. At the end of the second period it was a tight game with Quinte up by one. With the third period full of penalties there was no time for goals! Charlie Vos was in net as Quinte took the 3-2 win over Peterborough.
Next week, Quinte takes on the number one team when they travel to Whitby followed by a face off against Oshawa on Sunday.
Free Flow Petroleum- Minor Midget
The Minor Midget Free Flow Petroleum team started the new year off with a win.
The team travelled to Kingston to face off against the Frontenacs on Friday evening. After a scoreless first period Ben White sniped a goal with an assist from Erik MacNiel early in the second period. Nathaniel Burelle followed up with another goal shortly thereafter with assists from Zack Brooks and Daniel Michaud. Kingston answered back with two goals later in the second to tie up the game. With the game winding down, late in the third Michaud scored the game winner from a long stretch pass from MacNiel and Cole Lavender. Ethan Broek netted the fourth point with an assist from Gavin Camp for a final score of 4-2 for QRD. Alex Lucas was in net for the victory.
Next game the team will travel to Oshawa Legends Centre on Wednesday January 9th. Puck drops at 8:30pm.
Madison Excavating- Major Peewee
Madison Excavating Peewee team were on the road this weekend for one game in regular season play against the Markham Waxers.
The Devils and Waxers would have a close game throughout with back and forth action in both offensive ends. Quinte would take a 1-0 lead in the first with a goal from Jared Langdon, assisted by Brody Partridge and Braedyn Rogers. The Waxers would answer back 2 minutes later to tie it and then take the 2-1 lead a minute later. Both the second and third periods would end scoreless and the Devils succumbed to the loss. Mike McIvor was in net for the loss.
The Madison Excavating Peewees will travel to Oshawa to face the Generals on Thursday and then host the Clarington Toros this upcoming Sunday at the CAA Arena.
Foley Bus Lines- Major Bantam
On Sunday the Devils travelled to St. Andrews College to take on the York Simcoe Express for their first game of 2019. The Devils would strike first and score the only goal of the opening period. In period two Quinte would find the back of the net two more times to take a 3-0 lead heading into the third period. The Express would score twice in the third period but Quinte would add one of their own and take the game 4-2.
Next home action is January 12th against the Clarington Toros @ 3:45pm at the QSWC (Family Dental Centre).
McInroy Maines- Major Midget
The McInroy Maines Major Midgets stayed busy over the holidays with three games in the race for the playoffs in the parody driven East Division. The boys took a tie, win and loss keeping pace with teams around them as the stretch drive with under 10 games left is in full swing.

Walsh Fencing- Novice
The Devils headed to Peterborough this past Saturday for a road game against ETA East foe the Peterborough Petes. After a two week Christmas break both teams looked a little slow out of the gate in the first period and the period would end in a 0-0 tie.
The Petes would get on the score board on a power play goal to take a 1-0 lead half way through the second period. The Devils would take another penalty a minute later and the Petes would bang home another power play goal to take a 2-0 lead into the third period.
Early into the third period the Petes would score another goal off a lucky deflection from a point shot and take a 3-0 lead. The Devils would answer with a power play goal on a nice rush by defensemen Ryder Hooey who put it home on his backhand. The Devils would put a lot of pressure on the Petes in the third period but it was too late as the Petes would go on and win the game 3-1.

Sunday The Devils traveled to Little Britain to take on the Central Ontario Wolves.
The Wolves would open the scoring in the first period and take a 1-0 lead. Early in the second period the teams would exchange goals and COW would hold a 2-1 lead but after that the QRD offence would explode for six goals in the second period and would take a 6-3 lead into the third period. Your Devils would add three more goals in the third period to win the game 9-3.
