The City of Quinte West is following suit with its neighbours in Belleville and is looking for input from residents on the possibility of allowing retail marijuana outlets within its boundaries.
An online survey has been posted so residents can give their feedback on whether or not they want to see pot shops in the city.
Municipalities across the province have until January 22 to decide whether or not to allow the shops.
Those that opt out in a few weeks will have a further opportunity to opt in at a later date, but those that say yes will not be able to opt out afterwards.
Municipalities that allow the shops won’t be able to decide where they go as that will be up to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
You can click here to complete the survey, any time before January 13.
