The year-end building stats are in from Quinte West and the numbers are down for the second year in a row.
In total the city issued 892 permits in 2018, with a total construction value over just over $110 million, compared to 982 permits with a value of more than $122 million in 2017.
In 2016, the city issued 27 fewer permits than in 2017, but brought in close to $19 million more.
Of the 892 permits issued in 2018, 229 were for new homes, five were for agricultural buildings and two were for new institutional or government builds.
