On Thursday December 20, 2018 members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police made an arrest after conducting a traffic stop.
Shortly after 8:00 am an officer stopped a 2018 white sedan after it was measured travelling 158 km/h eastbound on Highway 401 in the Municipality of Brighton. Following an investigation 53 year-old Darlene WYBENGA from Oshawa, Ontario was arrested and charged with the following offences;
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine
- Fail to Comply with Recognizance ( two counts)
- Race a Motor Vehicle – Excessive Speed.
The accused was held, in custody, pending a show cause hearing later that same day. She was then released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on January 16, 2019.
