During the week of December 10, 2018 through to December 16, 2018, officers with the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 91 calls for service.
These investigations included multiple 911 non-emergency call, two alarms, animal complaint, three assaults, two attempt or threat of suicide, two bail violations, court order, two domestic disputes, drug offence, four family disputes, two harassments, mental health act, motor vehicle abandoned, neighbour dispute, two noise complaints, person wellbeing check, police assistance, police information, two prevent breach of peace, property checks, theft, three traffic complaints, traffic enforcement, traffic hazard, trespass to property, trouble with youth, warrants and other related calls for service.
Seven criminal charges were laid during the same period of time regarding the assault, domestic assault and two bail violation investigations.
Officers also conducted multiple Festive R.I.D.E. programs throughout the detachment area to check on driver’s sobriety.
Officers responded to 15 motor vehicle collisions where six were involved in striking animals, five deer and one moose. Most of the MVCs involving animals occurred after daylight hours.
During that same period officers laid multiple Provincial Offence Notices with most involving Highway Traffic Act offences.
