Another company in Belleville is closing their doors.
After rumours began six weeks ago, Avaya has confirmed they are closing their facility on Sidney Street in 2019.
The telephone and communications business currently has 68 employees and the company is working on moving their employees to work at different Avaya sites and remotely from home.
Last month, 16 employees were let go and the closure of the facility in mid-2019 was announced.
This isn’t the first time the company has been hit with reductions. Avaya took over the business from Nortel after they filed for bankruptcy in 2009. At that time there were approximately 300 people working at the site.
