A local MPP says Canada is just a pawn in a game between China and the United States.
Hastings Lennox and Addington member Daryl Kramp recently joined the Lorne Brooker Show, where they discussed the arrest of Meng Wanzhou, the chief financial officer of tech giant Huawei.
As an MP under Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Kramp was the Chair of the Canada-China Legislative Association, making many trips to China.
He says he is not surprised China arrested two Canadians.
Kramp says he does not expect the Chinese to keep the two Canadians long, and he adds it will come to a relatively speedy end.
Canadian’s Michael Spavor and Michael Kovrig were arrested in China last week.
