A Belleville man has begun a six month jail sentence for his part in an assault and a home invasion.
Twenty-four-year-old Michael Livingston pleaded guilty at his pretrial in Belleville provincial court to common assault, from an incident last September, and to possession of a weapon, breach of undertaking and break and enter.
The last three charges were laid by Belleville Police after Livingston and two other men forced their way into a Gavey Street home on Thanksgiving Monday, assaulted the occupants, and stole a television, jewellery, clothing and other items.
Livingston was also given a five year weapons prohibition, put on probation for five years, and ordered to provide a sample for the National D-N-A Data Bank.
