The Chief of Paramedic Services for Hastings-Quinte says the service has created a number of initiatives which he hopes will improve ambulance service in the area.
Doug Socha tells Quinte News that, in the community medicine program, 24 hours a week are dedicated to the paramedics going out into the community, looking at patients who are “high users” of the medical system, and help the patients navigate through the health care system.
Socha says the community progam, 100% funded by the LHIN, has helped 200 patients so far.
