The Trenton Golden Hawks were determined there would not be a repeat of Friday’s shutout loss in Lindsay.
Samuel Duchesne scored his first of two goals at 2:53 of the first period which set the tone for a 9-2 rout of the Junior Canadiens in Toronto. Trenton scored 6 unanswered goals by 6 different players in the opening 20 minutes.
Peter Falivena also scored twice while Matt Nastasiuk added a goal and two assists as Trenton snaps a two game losing skid.
Also scoring for Trenton were Cameron Gaylor, Tiger McDonald, Paul O’Doherty and Dalton Bancroft.
The Golden Hawks trail the East Division leading Cobourg Cougars by 2 points and they meet in Trenton on Friday night.
In the Provincial Junior “C” Hockey League, the Gananoque Islanders downed the Campbellford Rebels 5-1.
