Former Prince Edward County Mayor Robert Quaiff took some time to sit down with Quinte News and discuss the past year.
He says there were a number of achievements for the County.
One that sticks out to him is dealing with Airbnbs in the County.
Some of the other accomplishments include the creation of an affordable housing task force, gathering more hospital funding for the new build and having an engineering study done on County Road 49.
2018 also had its share of challenges.
One of the big challenges every year is road work, according to Quaiff.
Other issues faced by the County included dealing with the tourism boom, eliminating development red tape, finding ways to help new and young farmers and the ongoing legal battle surrounding Picton Bay.
Quaiff says overall he’s happy with the way 2018 played out for the council and the County.
