Canada’s unemployment rate is at a 40 year low as of the end of November.
The national rate is 5.6%. Almost 100,000 new jobs were created last month.
Meanwhile, there’s good news for our region as well. According to Statistics Canada, the unemployment rate in the Kingston-Pembroke area, which includes Quinte, sits at 4.6%.
In October the rate locally was 5%. The month before, in September, it was 5.5%.
Ontario’s unemployment rate was the same as the national rate, at 5.6%.
