OP-SEU is urging some 55-hundred corrections workers in Ontario, including at the Quinte Detention Centres in Napanee, to vote in favour of a new contract with the provincial government.
The new deal, reached with a mediator, avoids possible workplace disruptions over the key issue of sick days.
Management had proposed curtailing the number of allowable sick days, but OP-SEU says that issue is addressed in the tentative deal.
The four-year agreement also includes a bump in pay.
