Napanee OPP are reminding drivers to be aware of construction zones, after a close call on the westbound 401 last Thursday.
Police say a van was approaching a clearly marked construction zone and clipped a traffic cone, knocking off the driver’s side mirror of the van and causing a worker to have to take evasive action to avoid being hit.
OPP pulled the van over a short distance away and charged 70-year-old Bernard Woodman of Kingston with careless driving.
Drivers are reminded to slow down when approaching and travelling through construction zones and to obey all warning signs, people and/or signals that are directing traffic.
