Mayor Brian Ostrander says Brighton has a calm, quiet, get ‘er done kind of council, and the first order of business will be to get working on a strategic plan to map out exactly where they want to go.
The new council was sworn in Monday night in front of a standing room only crowd at the King Edward Park Community Centre followed by a catered meet and greet.
Ostrander, Deputy Mayor Laura Vink, and Councillors Ron Anderson, Mark Bateman, Doug LeBlanc, Emily Rowley, and Mary Tadman recited their vows, and are looking forward to getting down to work. There are two special council meetings scheduled for December 11 and 13, prior to the regular council meeting of December 17.
