Everyone was in a good mooooood Friday when the Prince Edward County Dairy Farmers put their best foot…errr, hoof forward to help Back the Build and support the campaign to bring a new hospital to Prince Edward County.
A group of farmers representing the local Dairy Producers and their families, along with special guest Talina, the dairy cow, presented the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation with $18,000 and counting to the Back the Build Campaign.
“The Back the Build campaign is truly a community project. This gift was made on behalf of the dairy producers of Prince Edward County to assist with this amazing hospital project, as well as to thank our community for their strong support of Canadian milk and our dairy industry,” said Phil Prinzen on behalf of the Dairy Producers. “As an industry, dairy farmers have a responsibility to our community and this is one way we can all contribute and give back in a big way,” shared Prinzen. “Each of us knows the personal need for access to health care, close to home, and it is great that we can help Back the Build.”
“The Dairy Producers gift to Back the Build is udderly fantastic,” said Shannon Coull, executive director of the PECMH Foundation. ” There are no words to describe how grateful we are to our local dairy farmers for their incredibly generous donation. This gift will go a long way in helping us achieve our goal of building a new, state-of-the-art hospital for every person who lives in or visits our County.”
