There’s a brand new group doing more than just wringing their hands and spouting platitudes about the growing poverty and
homelessness problems in the Quinte region and beyond.
A small group of volunteers has created the Community Homelessness Advocacy Team or CHAT.
CHAT’s Ali Scott says the new group is receiving tips about where the homeless are spending their nights and then going to those
hidden away spots to deliver warm clothing, bedding and non-perishable food items.
The group is asking for more volunteers and of course more donations of clothing, camping items, tents, and food.
CHAT hopes to have volunteers working in all of the communities in the Quinte area soon as winter is now setting in.
