Power has been restored to the homes affected by the earlier power outage.
The outage, which happened shortly before 1 p.m. affected almost 5,000 customers in Belleville.

There appears to be a rather large area of the City of Belleville affected by a power outage.
According to Veridan’s outage map, at least 5,000 customers are without power and have been since close to 1 p.m.
The affected area stretches from Dundas Street, north all the way to Bell Boulevard and from about Avondale Road, east to Foster Avenue.
A cause of the outage hasn’t been released but the hydro provider believes power will be restored by 3 p.m.
