Organizers behind an emergency homeless shelter being built in Belleville want to further the discussion around poverty and affordable housing issues in the city and the greater Quinte Region.
Grace Inn Shelter will host a round table discussion about those issues on Thursday, featuring Alberta MP Arnold Viersen, who is the Deputy Shadow Minister for Innovation, Science and Economic Development.
He also holds a number of other committee positions within the federal conservative party.
Viersen says he’s “looking forward to sitting down with stakeholders and experts to discuss possible solutions for the community”.
If you’re interested in attending the event, it runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Grace Inn Shelter, at the site of the former Irish Hall, on Church Street in Belleville.
