A 34 year-old from Cramahe Township has been charged after a possible impaired driver on the 401 was reported to OPP.
The call came in this past Saturday around 10:15 a.m., where other motorists noticed a westbound pick up truck travelling at inconsistent speeds and swerving substantially.
Officers located the truck as it turned into a carpool lot at Toronto Road in Port Hope and charged the driver with care or control while impaired and care and control over 80 milligrams.
Tyler Robert Hayward received a 90 day license suspension and had his vehicle impounded.
Police are reminding drivers to plan ahead when they expect to be drinking, by either using a designated driver or public transit, calling a cab, or staying overnight.
