Council needs to know how the residents of Prince Edward County feel about a pot shop in the municipality.
The County has until January 22 to let the province know if they are a willing host of a private cannabis retail store or not.
Council was asked by staff to begin consultations by phone, online or hard copy about locations of the pot stores and any other relevant information.
Mayor Robert Quaiff says they want as much information as possible.
The results of the consultation process will be presented to the new council for them to make a decision before the January deadline.
