Council in Prince Edward County heard a deputation addressing public safety in Macaulay Village.
Students from the Prince Edward Learning Centre brought their concerns forward about reducing speed limits, adding lighting, signage and sidewalks in the area to make it safer for those living in ‘The Heights’.
One deputant said safety is a right not a privilege and this matter is urgent.
Mayor Robert Quaiff says this is an issue the OPP have even identified.
Council is hoping this will be addressed in 2019 as part of the budget process when water work up to the reservoir is tendered.
