A Deseronto man pleaded guilty to an assault and was handed a suspended sentence and 12 months probation earlier this month.
Charles Nicholas, 52, was charged after a disturbance at a housing complex on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory in August of last year.
OPP and Mohawk police responded.
A 46-year-old man suffered non-life threatening injuries in the altercation.
Charges of uttering threats to cause bodily harm and aggravated assault were withdrawn.
CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story stated Nicholas was charged with assault with a weapon, but that is incorrect, we have made the change to reflect he pleaded guilty to assault only.
