A proposed homeless shelter in Belleville is moving on to the next phase of the construction process.
The Grace Inn Shelter, being built in the former Irish Hall on Church Street in Belleville, has been issued its building permit from the city.
Grace Inn’s Jodie Jenkins says the organizing group is putting out packages to potential contractors and trades people and expects the construction to take three to four months.
Early estimates put the cost of renovating the building into a shelter around $500,000, but final numbers won’t be known until the contractors get back to the group with their proposals.
