The rosters have been unveiled for the 2018 Eastern Canada Cup Challenge, and there is going to be some local flavour for several teams.
The tournament brings together the best players in Junior A from Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes.
The Wellington Dukes will have players Daniel Panetta, Dalton Bancroft, Andrew Rinaldi and Elijah Gonsalves on OJHL Team Adam Oates, while Mason Hardy of the Trenton Golden Hawks is also on Oates. Bloomfield native Jett Alexander is one of two goaltenders.
Sam Duchesne and Griffen Fox of the GHawks have been selected by OJHL Team Joe Nieuwendyk.
Wellinton’s Tyson Gilmour and Zach Uens will suit up for Team OJHL Dale Hawerchuk, while John Druce of the Dukes, and Thomas Milne of Trenton will Co-Coach the club, with Sarah Ditmars of the GHawks as the trainer.
The tournament format has 21 games, with each being just two periods.
There are four teams from the OJHL, two from the CCHL, which is the Ottawa loop, two teams from Northern Ontario, two from Quebec, and two from the Maritimes.
It acts as a top notch event for scouts of the Canadian University, NCAA, and NHL, bringing in well over 100 for the three days beginning Monday November 19th.
