UPDATE @ 4:20 p.m.: Tyendinaga firefighters are still trying to contain a blaze in a house on Shannonville Road.
Flames, which are still visible from the house, broke out at the home near Raglan Road around 2:00 p.m.
Quinte News’ Brock Ormond is at the scene and says there were people in the house at the time of the fire.
A Tyendinaga Fire Department source tells Quinte News the flames may have started in the kitchen, but that will have to be confirmed.
OPP are still on scene blocking traffic in the area, so drivers will need to find another route.

Firefighters in Tyendinaga are on the scene of a house fire.
The call which came in shortly before 2 p.m. saw crews respond to 126 Shannonville Road.
Additional tankers were called in from Belleville stations 3 and 4 to provide support.
Reports from Scan Quinte say three men have been taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area at this time.
