Quinte West Fire is currently on the scene of a downed hydro wire in the city.
The live wire went down and caught fire before 9 o’clock Saturday morning, falling across the road in the area of 657 Murray Street.
Plenty of smoke was reported as well.
Hydro One responded quickly to the scene. Quinte West Police officers are on scene as well, assisting fire crews by managing traffic control.
Both ends of Murray Street are blocked to traffic.
It’s unknown when the wire will be fixed and what time the road will reopen.
